    Hi Jon -

entheogenreview.com doesn't seem to be a valid domain (??)... I, at least, can't resolve it. Halpern's involvement w/ Pickard's case has been particulary interesting (I say that with intention of neutrality)... it would enlightening to read more info.

Sorry about that. The Entheogen Review site was crashed for a few days. It is back up now:

      www.entheogenreview.com/halperngate.html

should get you to the article.

        Oh, dear.

I am very aware of John and his work, having camped right next to MAPS at the Brane Village in 2004 and meeting him briefly again in 2005. Like Rick, I don't know how concerned anybody should be about their activities around him (and for the record, he was a Black Rock Ranger and took part in Sanctuary.)

I would say that it does bother me that at the end of the article, it is Rick who delivers John's mea culpa for him. I think it's misleading for Rick to say that John's involvement as an informant in the missile silo case was public information. John is often called upon as an expert witness in many national high-profile cases involving psychedelics, so I wouldn't have consider John's involvement here necessarily as incriminating. Moreover, I feel that there are some things people should do for themselves, however painful, and that's coming clean to a community. So I'm very disappointed in him to say the least.

I agree with Jon, though. His reseach is important, but it may not be a good idea for him to involve himself in an underground which may never entirely forgive him
